THE STORY BEHIND "FE"

Fe Functional Nutrition was inspired by two remarkable young people—affectionately known as Frog and Ezra (Fe).

Both faced complex, chronic, multi-system health challenges from a young age. Their journeys through conventional healthcare were often difficult, fragmented, and many times grossly overwhelming. Yet their experiences revealed something profoundly important: when health concerns cross multiple systems, people need more than isolated answers. They need someone willing to look at the whole picture, listen to their story, and help connect the pieces.

Frog and Ezra became the inspiration behind my decision to return to school and pursue functional nutrition.

Their journeys shaped the kind of practitioner I wanted to become—one who approaches every client as an individual, seeks to understand the why behind their symptoms, and recognizes that meaningful change is built through therapeutic partnership rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

They also showed me how difficult it can be for patients and families to navigate the space between appointments, specialists, laboratory findings, hospitalizations, symptoms, and everyday life. That experience became central to the mission of Fe Functional Nutrition: to help bridge the gap between patients and their healthcare providers by translating complex information into individualized, actionable strategies that support sustainable health outcomes.

The name Fe carries that story forward. It honors Frog and Ezra and the journey they inspired, while also representing iron—Fe on the periodic table—a symbol of strength.

Because sometimes the greatest strength is found in continuing to search for answers, connecting what others have treated separately, and believing there may be another path forward.

Fe Functional Nutrition exists to help people find that path.
